I've been using Trilene for over 40 years.....odd how one's confidence can be increased when one has confidence in a product. Anyway, I use this exclusively for my leaders for ice fishing. I fill the spool with Trilene Ice at a lower cost, run it to a very small swivel, and than use about 30" of 3 or 4 lb fluorocarbon leader. When the fish are aggressive nothing really matters, but when they are finicky, which seems to be most of the time, a quality fluorocarbon leader can really made a difference.

After being a monofilament fisherman for well over 50 years at the behest of my brother, I made the switch to braid and based on numerous online reviews I choice Power Pro Spectra in the moss green color and I am beyond pleased with it's performance. IMO this line is superior to any mono I've used ever and I've used a bunch of them. I especially like the sensitivity gained by the extremely low stretch quality of this line. I first used it walleye fishing on Lake Erie and on that day the bite was light. I believe I caught fish that I wouldn't have if I was still using mono. If it has one con (and this is a small one) it's that thing knots with it required me to learn some new knots. I'd recommend the uni-knot with this line as it did an excellent job this knot strength that was impressive.
