How to Create a Media Kit in Canva

A media kit is an important tool for anyone looking for sponsorships and brand deals. It contains all the information that brands need to know about you, and it's a great way to showcase your work and accomplishments. The good news is that you can easily create a media kit with free online software from Canva. Here's how:

First let's go create your Media Kit in Canva

Go to www.canva.com and create a free account.  You may want to upgrade and pay about $10 a month for the Pro version but for now, just choose the free account if you don't already have one.

Once you log on go search on "Media Kit".  There are a ton of different templates available to work with in Canva, so you can explore them and see which one works for you.  It’s all personal preference.

Once you have a template picked out you can click on the elements on the page and make virtually any changes you want.  You can drop in your logo if you have one, a photo of yourself, and a few details about what you do.  Here is a good tutorial on how to use Canva.

It’s a good thing to focus on one social channel channel on a single page.  So you could have several different pages.  If you want to jam it all on one page that’s fine, but making a single page for each channel allows you to be more creative, and the images you use will be bigger and easer to read.

What To Include In Your Media Kit - Page 1

· Your name
· A photo of yourself
· Your logo, if you have one
· Overall audience details in total
· Bullet points on what you do, and where
· Social channel handles - make them clickable
· Contact information - email and possibly phone

What To Include In Your Media Kit - Supporting Pages

Make a separate page for each individual channel.  So page 2 could be for Facebook, page 3 could be Instagram, page 4 for TikTok, and page 5 for YouTube.  Whatever channel you have, make a page to highlight it.

It makes it easier if you put together the first channel page with all the information and screenshots, and then just copy that page and change the channel name and the information.  Keep the same format for your pages - it’s easier and gives it a professional look.

On each channel page you should include:

· Your social media insights
· Number of followers and demographics
· Screenshots of posts with high engagement
· Any insights that show the performance of your social media

You can go to your Facebook or Instagram page and click on "Insights", and get all types of information on your accounts.

You should also include a sponsor page to highlight the work you do with your current sponsors (if you currently have sponsors):

· Number of posts dedicated to each sponsor
· Engagement on sponsors posts
· Any statistics that can support whether or not you brought the sponsor additional sales.

When you're done, simply download the media kit as a PDF file and start sharing it in your outreach with potential brands who need you to help them sell their gear.

A brand wants to see who your audience is and get a look at what type of engagement you’re getting.  They want to make sure you’re a good fit to represent their products, and to see if you can "move the needle" for them.   The more proof that you can show that you've increased sales for your sponsors due to your activity, the easier it will be to get a brand deal with a new brand.

A media kit is an essential tool for any influencer, or "Referral Agent". It contains all the information that brands need to know about you, and it's a great way to showcase your work and accomplishments. The good news is that you can easily create a media kit in Canva in less than an hour.

Cheers to the great outdoors,
